The French Country Dollhouse (L'Auberge du Pont du Gard)

The Avignon Suite of the French Country Dollhouse

The Avignon Suite of the French country dollhouse.

The Avignon Suite:

  • Is named for the city in Southern France where I spent a wonderful semester my Junior year in college.
  • Has a terra cotta tiled floor (purchased in a sheet rather than single tiles).

  • Features wallpaper that looks like the walls have been "speckled" with turquoise paint.

Sue Sharp made this gorgeous bed for the Avignon Suite.

Features a bed, chair and skirted table by Sue Sharp. Breakfast is served on the skirted table in the Avignon Suite.

Has a miniature water color of the "Pont d'Avignon" (the Avignon Bridge) by D. Harlant on the wall. Yes, it is the Bridge from the song we all learned in French Class ("Sur le pont d'Avignon...")!

A miniature water color of the Avignon Bridge by D. Harlant hangs on the wall of the Avignon Suite.
A Bodo Hennig armoire in the Avignon Suite Has a large armoire by Bodo Hennig that I varnished to resemble the light woods favored by Provençals.
