Masses of locally-grown lavender welcome you to L'Auberge du Pont du Gard--The French Country Dollhouse Coral-colored stucco and lace-curtained windows on the facade of the French Country Dollhouse

Exterior Features

As you approach L'Auberge du Pont du Gard (The Inn of the Pont du Gard Bridge), you will notice:

  • Large pots of fresh-picked lavender welcoming you to the Inn.
  • The rusty-pink stucco I created using bits of cardboard egg-carton dappled with many colors of paint.
  • The peach-colored window trim.
  • The lace curtains at each window.
The roof of the French Country Dollhouse is composed of asphalt shingles applied with a staple-gun. The roof of L'Auberge was created using multi-colored asphalt shingles from What's Next. I applied them with a staple-gun. They were easy to put on, but my shoulder hurt for several days from the "kick-back" effect of the staple-gun.

The two miniature poodles (caniches, in French) waiting to greet you are Nugget (the silver one) and Cognac (the apricot one). They are miniatures of my two current dogs by Karl Blindheim.

Two miniature French poodles, Nugget and Cognac, wait to welcome you to the French Country Dollhouse.

What you can't tell by the picture is how mischievous that little gray (oops, I mean silver) dog can be. We should have named him "Silver Pistol" instead of "Silver Nugget."
